Does a camera come with a cord to connect to the computer?

I’m thinking about getting a camera and wanted to know if it comes with a cord where you can hook it up to the computer so that you can have your pictures on your camera saved to your computer. Is it a USB cord? I have one but it’s for a MP3 player…so I’m not sure if you can use that. I’m not really electronic savvy but I’ve got an idea of what camera’s are and how to use them and computer stuff but not really into the details.

Yah its a usb cord and a camera should come with that. Most mp3 player cords are for the mp3 players alone. honeybc

Yes, it should come with a USB cord to connect to the computer.

No, you probably won’t be able to use the cord from your MP3 player. The reason is because the end of the cord that goes into the device is different.

Most digital cameras also have a removable card that you insert into a card reader built in the front of your computer. Some computers don’t have the card readers, but you can buy a USB attachment that will read the card. Claudia V

Are you asking about a camcorder or camera?

Digital cameras do come with a USB cord to download your stills and videos.
    Camcorders..

If it’s a minidv camcorder, you need a firewire connection. Thes cameras do NOT come with a firewirecord and your PC/laptop might not have a firewire port.

If it’s a minidvd camcorder you have to convert the files using a file converting program like handbrake (free download). You don’t need a cord.

If it’s a hard disc, then download using the USB cord. The cord comes with it.

If it’s a flash drive, you can either use a card reader or USB and copy and paste the photo’s from the card to the file of your choice. They come with a cord and you should invest in an external card reader. snowwillow20
