Sony Cybershots capture everything. I have one

Any SLR. As they are much faster at shooting than others. As long as you aim and press the button when and where the lightning strikes, you’re good. Just don’t forget to put it on manual. Edouard A
Sony Cybershots capture everything same as hd cams but good luck Byron
Any camera that can have a long exposure. You want the lens to be open for a long time so you can start the shutter before the lightning flashes, and stop the exposure when it’s over. The easiest way to do this is with a camera that has a “bulb” setting. Remote controls also help too. Set the camera up on a tripod and aim toward the lightning. When you think lightning will strike soon, press down on the shutter. (Make sure your camera is in BULB mode). Hold the button down until the lightning strikes (try not to move! This is why a remote helps) and release it carefully when the lightning is done.
So long story short, any camera with a manual BULB mode.

Only thing I will add… from exp. here.. yea, almost hit by lightning..
Good Tripod and TELEPHOTO LENS.. when that sh** gets close you get inside. I ended up with a radio remote control release figured my camera would fry but I was staying inside away from that stuff.. singgggged my hair and I was still over a football field away when it hit.. Bruce M
dslr’s are better to go with, they are better in every way, to capture lightning, you would probably have to use the “take multiple pictures” feature. if you try to get it right when it hits, you’ll be too late, you have to do it before it hits, because lightning is way too fast. so right when you think it’s gonna strike you better use that feature at that moment.
